Speed Racer

Tyler is picking up speed! He's really got the crawling thing down! We were doing his usual naked play time for a few minutes after his bath and he made a run for it. He is OBSESSED with the dog's water. I'm not too sure what I'm going to do about it as it's SUPER HOT outside and the water would boil out there. Not really but still... Only a couple more months of the heat and then it can go outside for good! Until then I'll be chasing my boy down the hall 24/7 trying to keep him out of it!

Tyler & Justice

Tyler had a little playdate over at our house with Justice on Wednesday. Amy (Justice's momma) and I have known each other since gosh, preschool I believe. Anyways... we had them over for cinnamon rolls (although I'm the only fatty who ate them, lol) and got to catch up chit chatting while the boys just uh, hung out. Tyler tried to climb onto Justice and pull out his hair every chance he got but we kept a nice distance between the two of them for most of the time. Nice playdate, right? LOL.

Spaghetti Man!

Well we're on to more solid food now (and oh gosh the whole choking thing is still making me sooo nervous!!)! Tyler doesn't want much to do with baby food anymore. He'll still eat sweet potatoes (his fav) and a select other few fruits but that's about it. I gave him some leftover ziti pasta we had for dinner and he LOVED it! Then he had spaghetti for dinner and had a blast again! I'm trying to think of other things to give him so any suggestions are much appreciated. So far we've done scrambled eggs, bananas, watermelon, a couple different pastas, uum... there's got to be others but I can't think of them at the moment.

Oh and another sad note, he's decided he wants nothing to do with nursing anymore. Just up out of the blue on Tuesday he started pushing away and crying everytime I'd go to nurse him. I give him a bottle after a few attempts of this and he just wants to hold it on his own and he sucks the thing down. I'm sad as I wanted to end it on my terms (I know, a little selfish, right?) but he's decided he's a big boy now. It's getting a little easier for me each day. I mean he's 9 months so we did go a pretty long time...

I got my hairs cut!

I chopped off - well I didn't, my friend Kameron did - 5 inches of hair!! And went a little lighter for the summer. Short hair feels soooooo much better in the heat!! I'm loving it!

4th of July

Chad and I celebrated a nice, first 4th of July with Tyler. We went over to my grandma's for a BBQ and swim during the day and then had a few friends over for fireworks and games. Tyler was out like a light before the fireworks started and it was nice to enjoy some adult time with friends.

9 Month Checkup

Tyler had his 9 month checkup today. I know, seriously! Where has the time gone?! We met his new Dr. today, Dr. Go, and really like her. We switched doctors a couple months back but have only seen the nurse practitioner for his ear infections and whatnot. Anyways, she said he looks great and like a happy, healthy 9 month old. 

Here are the stats:

Weight - 20 lbs 13 ounces (50th percentile)

Length - 27 3/4 inches (25th percentile) - I could've sworn he's grown more than 3/4" since his 6 month!! He looks soooo much longer to me but maybe they mis-measured a little at the 6 month... who knows... He's still as cute as can be. And hey, mom and dad aren't too tall anyways. He's kind of out of luck in that department.

Auntie Lolo & New Toy = FUN!

Lauren spent a couple of hours with us yesterday and I think she had more fun playing with Tyler's new toy than he did. It was fun just hanging out in Tyler's room for a while playing and listening to Baby Einstein.

And I finally got letters to put on his bedroom wall!! Woohoo!! Now all I want to do it put the border that goes with his bedding along the top of his walls and the nursery will be complete - Only took 9 months! LOL!

I can't believe it's already JULY!!

I can't believe Tyler will be 9 months old tomorrow!! Where has the time gone!! Do I seriously need to start thinking about his first birthday party already?!?! I can't believe it!

4th of July photo shoot... I tried

I really wanted to take cute pictures of Tyler decked out in his 4th of July gear and send out cute cards... yeah... it didn't happen. I made the attempt but Tyler was soooo not interested in taking pictures. The blankets and grass and trees and bark were way more interesting to him. So instead of getting cards, this is the closest we'll get. Maybe next year... although I'm sure it's only going to get worse...

Crawling Videos

I mentioned a while back that Tyler's crawling. I took these videos shortly after, about 2 1/2 weeks ago, but never posted. He's actually become much more coordinated since but I thought these were too cute not to share. I'll post a current one when he's up from his nap : )
