I just started giving Tyler Gerber stars. It's the first form of real solid food besides the pureed fruits and veggies he's been having. He's had them 2 days in a row now and still gives this weird look like he's not sure what to think of them. It's pretty cute - I think I need to find a new word... I say "cute" waaaaaay too much in these blogs! LOL!

First Bath in a BIG Tub & Naked Time!
Tyler took his first bath in the BIG tub tonight. I love the sink bathing but he was constantly trying to get into everything and discovered the cords on the blinds behind the sink - trouble!! LOL! Anyways... he had a good time in the BIG tub. I bought all of these Nemo bath toys awhile back and it was fun to have the big tub to use them in.
Tyler's Mobile!
Tyler's not quite crawling yet but he's definitely making his way around. He's army crawling all of the place and starting to get into everything. Here are a couple of videos - he looks like a little fish - soo cute!
Perfect Weather Pictures
I meant to post these pictures last week after I mentioned the AMAZING weather we were having. It was soooo nice to be able to go outside and enjoy ourselves without sweating after 5 minutes. Ohh - and to be able to wear jeans!! Woohoo!!

Roooooooomba
I no longer have to vacuum!!! I have a robot to do it for me!!!! Woohooooooo!!!!
A couple of months ago my friend Katie blogged about getting a Roomba and absolutely loving it. I had seen these at Costco and Bed Bath & Beyond before and had mentioned to Chad that I would love to have one - he laughed. LOL!! We had a perfectly good vacuum that we received as a gift for our wedding and it's definitely gone through 3 1/2 years of HARD work. We vacuum at least 2 times a week with all of the crazy dog hair in our house, ugh! With Tyler SOOO close to crawling, it's totally been creeping me out thinking about him crawling all of the house and I knew I would be making my vacuum routine a daily chore, which I was sooo not looking forward to! Well Chad goes to vacuum on Monday and the thing starts smelling like a weird electrical burn or something. I told him I would check it out as I had just cleaned out all of the filters and thought perhaps I put something back in wrong... Well I go to check it out yesterday, everything looks fine, I go and start to turn it on and vacuum and the thing starts smoking - yeah, not good!! I check it out and the power supply inside the vacuum is all corroded looking and burnt - scary! Well seeming that we now had to get a new vacuum anyways I talked Chad into getting the ROOOOOOOOMBA!! YEAH!!! The thing vacuumed my kitchen, dining room, living room and hallway for an hour and a half this morning - and it looks perfect! It goes under the couches and coffee table and everything. This is too cool! I am so excited that I can have it vacuum for me everyday and not worry so much about Tyler and crawling and dog hair and ugh...
Anyways... this turned out pretty long but just wanted to share my excitement with you : )
Perfect Weather
It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL outside right now! The desert has had some pretty crazy, yuck, blah weather the past week and we've finally got a break! To recap a little... we've had a few days right around 110, Monday we had a record breaking high of 113, the wind has been CRAZY and I could hear it blowing all night long the last 2 nights, yet we wake up this morning to clouds and just a light breeze in the air - WOOHOO!!! The majority of clouds had gone away by 11:00 or so this morning leaving it at 75 degrees. Tyler and I were able to enjoy a nice walk around the neighborhood. I haven't been able to do this in weeks! If only it could be like this everyday!!

Ear Infection : (
So Tyler has his first ear infection - poor boy! He was so cranky all weekend and had HORRIBLE nights sleep Saturday and Sunday night and still woke up pretty upset on Monday morning so I ended up having Chad take him to the Dr. yesterday while I was at work. I had a feeling what it was and sure enough...a double ear infection. We're now giving him antibiotics, drops in his ears and some tylenol for pain. The tylenol and drops are helping him sleep much better (he's on solid nap #2 right now, thank goodness!) but he's still pretty unhappy when he's awake. I'm getting a lot of use out of my Bjorn though cause he just wants to be held and held, which is completely fine by me!! Poor little thing!!
Onto another note, he is SOOOO close to crawling! I know the painful ear infection is getting in the way but he took his first "step" with one hand and one knee forward the other night and when he brought his other hand and knee up he plopped to the ground. This next milestone is so exciting but I know I'll be wishing it didn't come so soon when he's into everything around the house!! I MAJORLY need to babyproof the house - maybe this long holiday weekend...

Chadly
First off, I just want to say that I have the best husband and father of my child that I could've ever dreamed. He made my first Mother's Day so special and one that I'll never forget. I woke up to my favorite Starbucks drink, a soy chai tea, and a back rub. Then went out to the kitchen to find beautiful flowers, a framed picture of Tyler and a gift certificate to a have a massage. We went to church, then to Aunt Laurie's house for brunch, then back home to relax. The list goes on for the rest of the day of little helpful things that were done for me. I feel so blessed to be a mom and celebrate all that goes along with it! Now I'm trying to think of ideas to top my day with Father's Day next month... Hhhmmmm...
Then I come home from work yesterday to find a set of golf clubs with a note saying "Happy Wonderful Wife Day." We've been looking for ladies lefties for a while and found (well neighbor Gabe found) a good used set of cute blue Wilson's on craigslist. I'm excited to not have to rent them when we go now!!
Thank you Chad for all you do and for the wonderful husband and father you are!!
On to today...
I think Tyler must be going through a growth spurt...
He scooted on to the tile and just stared out towards the slider in the kitchen. About five minutes later he looked like this...

And his second nap of the day started just about the same... he was playing with toys and I come in to find this...
Chad and I ate dinner out on the patio tonight. We've had our patio set for 3 years now and have hardly ever sat out there with just the two of us to eat dinner. It wasn't too windy and Tyler enjoyed having his dinner out there too in his high chair. After dinner I asked Chad to watch Tyler and play with him outside while I cleaned up the kitchen and got the sink ready for his bath. I came out to find this 10 minutes later...
And to top off the day... Chad and I just finished playing Scrabble. The game took FOREVER between being interrupted to get Tyler to bed and whatnot... The terms of the game were that the winner gets a back, arms and hand rub. Woohoo!!! Well too bad I lost by 1 point!! 1 POINT!! You have got to be kidding!! Okay... I've gotta go and give him a back rub now - I'll talk to ya'll soon!!

Catalina
Chad and I had our first little getaway without Tyler. We went to Catalina for 2 nights with our friends Justin and Araceli. I did pretty good - only cried for 20 minutes after dropping him off, LOL, and thought about him all weekend but we had a relaxing time and I was able to sleep, A LOT! Tyler stayed with Lynne and Larry (me-ma and pe-pa) and "smiled the entire time we were gone." He was a very good boy (when isn't he?!) and they loved having him. Grandma Alice (Gigi) also stayed at the house to help watch him. Chad, Justin and Araceli were able to get a dive in the first day while I stayed back at the hotel and took a nice, long, uninterupted nap. And then Chad and Justin rented a kayak and went spearfishing the second day. Overall we had a very fun time and I'm just so glad that Tyler did fine and we'll be able to do things like this again in the future. It was GREAT coming home to him and seeing the look on his face - He was so excited to see us!! Thank you Justin and Araceli for a fun weekend!!
Bon Voyage Uncle Mike!
My brother Michael left for Alaska yesterday. He's going up there for the summer (well until mid-September) to work at McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. Chad and I had a going away party for him on Saturday and BBQ'd and had a fun time. It's sad to see him leave for such a long time but I know this is going to be an amazing experience for him, so I'm very excited about that. Tyler is going to be such a different baby when he comes home!! He'll be two weeks shy of turning ONE, be close to walking if not walking yet, etc. etc., the list goes on. WE MISS YOU ALREADY! And I know Tyler misses his Uncle. Hope you're getting settled in and having a great time!!! LOVE YOU BROTHER!
Bathtub in the Kitchen??
Tyler took a bath in the kitchen sink on Saturday morning and had so much fun! We've tried this twice before a while back but he didn't have his sitting mastered yet so he wasn't able to have as much fun - too much concentration on sitting up I guess. Anyways... I put him in the sink after his very messy breakfast and here are some pictures - Enjoy! I sure am!!
April Randomness
I've really been slacking on keeping this updated regularly... I'm trying to get better but I'm not allowing myself to get on the internet and browse and do whatever for hours on end until I do stuff around the house... so at least something is getting done in my life : )
Here are a few pictures from April. I can't believe it's already May!!! Where in the world is time going?!?!
