ANNIVERSARY!

Chad wanted to take the initiative of planning out and taking care of our anniversary and oh my goodness did he do a good job!!! You would think after 4 years I wouldn't be so surprised when he does stuff like this but I continue to be in aw over all that he does.

I woke up to a yummy breakfast all ready to go out on our patio this morning. It was absolutely GORGEOUS at 7:30am and we had a great time enjoying our backyard (we don't do that enough for some reason...). He made french toast and topped it was warmed syrup and powdered sugar and had fruit on the side. It was sooooo good and such a nice treat first thing in the morning!

Chad had asked if it was possible if I get off early... hhmmmmm.... ooooookay.... so I did (Thank you Joan!!) and got home around 1:15 just in time to leave the house by 1:30. We still had to drop off Tyler at me-ma's and get to wherever we were going. I knew we were running a little late but still had no idea where we were going. Chad had called to let them (???) know we were going to be late so all I knew was that we were on the freeway and there was a confirmation number involved... ooooookay..... Well we got to the location after about 20 minutes... We arrived at the Agua Caliente Spa and Chad surprised me with a couples massage!!! Oh my goodness it was soooo nice!!! We spent a total of 2 1/2 hours there using their facilities and enjoying the peaceful, tranquil, quietness that a spa provides. It was soooooooo relaxing!!!

Well we left the spa (although I could've spent ALL day there) and headed to the Yard House for a glass of wine and appetizer as it was still a little too early for dinner. We then went to Roy's for dinner and enjoyed more delicious food!! It was still pretty early when we left dinner and still had some time to be out and about while Jess and Gabe were at our house taking care of Tyler (Thank you guys!!!!) So... we headed over to Palm Desert High School to watch the PD/LQ game. We were traitors and sat on LQ's side with Araceli (I know I know - it was killing Chad the entire time!!) It was a good, close game but LQ ended up winning 28 to 22. Maybe next year Aztecs...

All in all, today was an AWESOME day!! We were able to enjoy 8 hours of just "us" time and enjoying each others company. If only everyday could be like this... But then again it wouldn't be nearly as appreciated...

11.14.2008

It was 4 years ago today that I married my best friend and love of my life. I could have never imagined having a husband that literally cherishes me every minute of every day. He is an amazing husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, cousin, friend, etc, etc. The list could go on and on but I just feel so blessed to call him my husband.

I'm not so great with words but the card Chad bought for me today sums up all of my feelings:

"Our marriage is good for so many reasons. We've been blessed with a strong love, filled with patience and understanding. I realize that we haven't done it alone. God has been with us every step of the way... His love has seen us through the difficult times, and His blessings have made the good times that much richer. Today I thank Him for His presence in our lives, and especially for blessing me with you."

It is so true and I thank God everyday for bringing me a Godly, amazing husband to share my life and my dreams with!

The card concludes with Romans 8:28
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him."

Chad, I love you more than you'll ever know and I can't wait to spend the next years and years and years with you!! Well... however many God is going to give us that is! I LOVE YOU!
Happy 4 Years Love!

Allllllllllmost walking!

Tyler is soooooo incredibly close to walking!! He'll walk to start out with almost everytime I set him down or he stands up on a toy, table, wall, anything to move... After about 6-7 steps he'll start crawling. He did take 12 steps over the weekend though and he's given us a couple of 10'stepers!! I'm doing a lot of counting these days : ) Enjoy the video!!

Sabrina's Visit!

One of my best friends, Sabrina, came to visit from Idaho for a few days and we had so much fun! I hadn't seen her since April when I went out there for a few days so our visits are few and far between. She's 6 months pregnant with #3 (another girl!) and she was able to enjoy a few days without kids before this one comes so I was super excited for her - Thank you Mike for watching the girls so she could come! We chatted A LOT, hung out, ran errands for work with me and then concluded our last night bowling and Baskin Robbins with another friend Amy. I hadn't been bowling in a few years and we had soooo much fun!!
Thank you for coming Brie - Miss you already!!!!

* My bowling in action *

* I have NO idea what in the world I was trying to do here... *

* Strike a pose Brie! *
* Twins??? Noooooo *
* Amy couldn't figure out why she wasn't doing too hot... *
I forgot to post who won!! Sabrina kicked some booty!! We played 2 1/2 games. The last game (only 1/2 cause our time ran out) we bowled with our opposite hand and it was soooo hard! My right arm, hand, everything is beyong weak! Guess I better start holding Tyler with my right side!

Halloween 2008

Halloween was much different this year than last. Tyler was 3 weeks old, wanted NOTHING to do with his costume and cried the entire 5 minutes he was in it while we took pictures.

This year Ty was still less-than-thrilled about his costume but that mostly had to do with the fact that it was 90 degrees outside at 5:00!! What the heck?! He still let us capture some cute pictures but off came the costume before we headed over to the church for the Harvest Fun Fair. Tyler just wore his Halloween t-shirt, jeans and a pair of Halloween socks and was a happy guy for the most part. The fair had a great turn out with a ton of kids there! There was trunk-or-treating, bounce houses, rock climbing, hot dogs, popcorn, and the list goes on. Next year should be fun once Tyler's more into it and can walk around and do everything - I can't wait!

Clap Clap Clap

Just a little clip that I got of Tyler clapping... But then he got pretty excited between that and trying to stand and crawl and whatever else he was doing : ) He is getting sooooo close to walking by the way. He consistently take 4-5 steps now throughout the day.

Park Morning

This morning Tyler and I met our friends Amy and Justice at the park. The mornings and evenings have been really nice, despite the 90 degree weather during the day, so we took advantage of it! Justice is getting so big! It was his first time at the park and he loved the swings! It was so cute watching him and Tyler interact more than they were last time we got them together. The stared at each other almost the entire time they were on the swings. It was too cute!

Ty's 1st Haircut

We took Tyler in to get his 1st haircut on Friday!! His hair has been getting long and raggy for a while now but I've just been putting it off as I knew it would take away the last of his "babyness"... and yes it did!! We took him to a place called Enchanted Memories in Palm Desert that's a total kids salon. They were running behind when we got there so we had to wait and play with toys for a while but soon enough it was his turn and he got to sit in the airplane chair! He would not sit still for the poor lady so we took turns alternating between having a bottle, eating animal crackers, playing with a balloon, sitting in moms lap, etc etc. It took her about 45 minutes to cut as every time she would get the hair lined up in her fingers and ready to snip, he'd move his head. The 45 minutes were so worth it though and his new look is too darn cute for words!! He looks like such a big boy!! I can't get over it!! Here are a few pictures!!

* The before shot - and having a good time in the airplane! *

* Getting ready *
* Last baby shot with mommy *
* ALL DONE! *
Also, after his cut, we headed over to the La Quinta High School football game. We sat with our friends Araceli and her parents and in-laws and her husband Justin is coaching the team this year so we had a fun time watching the game. It was their first win of the season and they STOMPED on Cathedral City! The final score was 63-0!!! CRAZY!!! They played so well and it was a fun game to watch! Tyler was in the best mood and I think just with so much going on with the lights, music, crowd, etc... he was loving it!!

* Walking up to the field *

* So focused on the game *

Tyler update

It's been awhile since I posted just a general update on Ty. Time has been flying and I know if I were to go back through all of my posts on this blog I've probably said it like 100 times! LOL!!

Anyways... His 7th tooth finally came in on Monday - woohoo!! His teeth are coming... slowly but surely! He can eat just about anything we put in front of him. Just with the tougher stuff I'll cut it into super small pieces since he doesn't have any teeth in the back. He chowed down on steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus tonight and loved it!

He's also just started clapping and it's the cutest thing! He started out of nowhere last week and hasn't stopped since. All I have to say is "clap clap clap" or "yeeeaaa Tyler" and he goes crazy clapping! It's so cute!! It's crazy to know where they pick these things up cause it's not like I'm clapping around him all day or anything and he just starts to do it... I love watching all of these milestones and developments come and can't wait to see what's next!!

DIsneyland

We had our first experience at Disneyland with Tyler last Friday!! And boy was it an experience - LOL! Our friends, Ryan and Danielle, gave us 2 free tickets that were set to expire the end of the month so we made a point of getting out there to use them! We went on a Friday thinking it wouldn't be as crowded as it was a school day and boy were we wrong! The park was PACKED!! Like more packed than we've ever seen it in the middle of summer on a weekend! They're doing a Halloween thing right now which I'm sure didn't help but still... We still had a good time and made the most of it. We were there I think about 5 hours total and it was plenty of time. Tyler at his age isn't much for waiting in lines and whatnot so we did whatever we could that didn't involve a lot of that. Overall we had a great time and can't wait to take him back in a year or so when he'll really be into it and the different characters.

* Walking through Toon Towne houses *

* Playing the piano in Goofy's house - Ty LOVED this!! *

* Snack Time *
* Looking a little sleepy... *
* Uuuuuhhhhhhh..... *
* "PEEK-A-BOO" *
* Clap Clap Clap *
* Mamma and Ty - I'm bummed we didn't get a family picture... This is one of the only semi-decent ones... *
* The Mickey Mouse pumpkin! I thought it was so cute! *

After Disneyland we headed over to Katie and Cris' (sister and fiance) apartment in Long Beach to stay the night. We had a super nice visit with them and loved seeing their new little place they have together out there. It's really cute and very homey! Tyler LOVES Bella (their doggie) and had such a fun time playing with her. Bella gets really excited with Tyler and plays all puppy'ish with him and Ty loves it and cracks up! Enjoy the video : )

Overall we had a very nice 2 days with beach weather and family time!
