Ty's 1st Sandwich

Tyler had his first sandwich experience last week and loved it!! I made him a cream cheese and jelly sandwich (an idea from a friend since they're not supposed to have peanut butter for a year, or 2 years maybe... I should find that out...) Anyways... here's a picture and video. He's getting so darn big! Oh and at the end he's gagging on his water... not the sandwich ; ) I don't think I had the stopper inside the sippy cup...

My BUSY BUSY Birthday Week!

It's been quite the week around here! We've had something going on almost every night in honor of my birthday - hahahaha. I've had a great time but I'm ready for some down time and things to get back to normal.

Monday - 8.11.08

Chad 100% COMPLETELY surprised me and took me to Hibachi only to see 9 of our good friends there waiting for us. I thought we were just going to dinner with the Schroder's "Neighbors" for my birthday dinner, which isn't anything out of the norm... So they pick us up, the 4 of us drive to Hibachi and when we walk in Jess stepped aside for Chad to let them know we were there for our reservation. Hhhmmm...suspicion #1... since Jess supposedly had taken care of the arrangements. Then the hostess asks how many are in our party and Chad says "14"..... Uuuhhhhh what's going on!!! I then look over to see everyone there waiting for us. The thought sometimes crosses my mind that he might be doing something for my birthday but this time I HAD NO IDEA! It was awesome!!! I had the best night ever!! We had an amazing dinner and then a few of us headed over to Robbie T's for a bit.

Tuesday - 8.12.08
On my actual birthday just Chad and I went to Arnold Palmer's. It was sooooooo yummy!! We ordered they're homemade potato chips with this crazy chunky bleu cheese dip for our appetizer and it was to die for! I'm not a big plain potato chip fan, nor a bleu cheese fan at all, but this was so tasty!! We were pretty tired from the previous night so we just came home after dinner to cuddle and watch the olympics. The games this year have been amazing!! We've had such a good time watching them almost every night!

Wednesday - 8.13.08
A day of nothing!! Chad actually worked like 13 hours on Wednesday and I had great intentions of making a nice, yummy dinner for him to come home to but that didn't quite work out. I went to the store earlier in the day to get everything I needed for Chicken Piccata. Well by the time I fed Tyler his dinner, gave him a bath and got him down, I was too exhausted to do anything else. I called Chad and had him pick up a pizza from Mario's down the street and bring it home... Oh well... it was just one of those nights.

Thursday - 8.14.08
Thursday night we went to The Right Bank with my mom, dad and grandma for my birthday dinner with them. It was a nice, yummy place! I guess it's been in Rancho Mirage for years and I've never heard of it. It's a nicer, older crowd, kind of quiet atmosphere so when we walked in with a baby that had hardly napped all day I was a little nervous. He did just fine though and we all took turns passing him around to walk around the restaurant and distract him.

Friday - 8.15.08
The Malestic's took us out to Maki Maki on Friday for my birthday. Gosh, it has been a BUSY week!! Grandma and Leo came with us also. Tyler actually slept in his stroller the first 30-45 minutes we were there. He again hardly napped that day (good 'ol teething) but I was so glad that he stayed asleep for the first part of dinner. Once he was up he was a happy boy! We went over to Ben & Jerry's afterwards for dessert and Tyler had his first bite of ice cream - Mmmmmm!!

That pretty much concludes my birthday week. Well actually, I went to the new Agua Caliente Spa with Jess and Katie today. I had my first facial which was absolutely amazing!! Okay... now my birthday is over : ( Until next August that is...

1 Year Ago...

I was just going through pictures and came across Tyler's 3D ultrasound images that we had done just about this time last year. Well on 8/8/07 to be exact. I can't believe how fast the last year has gone by and everything that has happened since going to the beach to have these done last summer. I know it's only going to go by faster and faster but it just puts things into perspective for me to cherish and enjoy moment with my baby boy.

July has come and gone...

Where in the world has this summer gone?!?! I can't believe it's already August!!! Tyler 10-month birthday was yesterday which I'm still in awe about. Do I really need to start thinking about his 1st birthday already? Goodness! Anyways, here are some random pictures from July. Enjoy!!

Photo Shoot

One of my good friends Katie is really getting into photography and asked if I would bring Tyler over so she could "shoot" him with her big new camera and fancy equipment. So a couple of weeks ago we headed over to her house, Tyler was happy as can be, but the second she started clicking away Tyler's face got as serious as it could get. He wouldn't budge, smile, grin, laugh, nothing! I have THOUSANDS of pictures of him on my computer with him smiling in almost every one!! I don't know what got into him but even his very serious face picture turned out ADORABLE! Thank you Katie!!!!! You did an AWESOME job! I LOVE them!

Beachy Baby

Tyler had his first experience at the beach this past weekend. We went to Newport Beach for a few days with a few other families and had a great time. We met up at the pool on Friday night for some swimming and pizza when a few of us got into town, then went to the beach all day Saturday and then out to dinner with everyone Saturday night. Tyler did sooooooo well at the beach. I don't know why I always expect less, especially when it involves the water! He hung out for about 2 hours playing with Chad in the ocean and then with me on the towel and in the sand (oh and he only got it in his mouth once... not too bad, right?) I put him in the Bjorn when he was starting to get tired as I knew there was way to much stimulation for him to just take a nap easily at the beach and once he was asleep I put him in the pack-n-play and he slept for about 90 minutes! SWEET!! Our pack-n-play has this cool tent like thing too so he was out of the sun. It was our first time using that accesory and it worked out great!

Big new toy discovery!

So we've moved the dog's water and Tyler is now allowed to go to the back of the hall without us chasing him down 24/7. Well he's now discovered how cool the washer and dryer are. I find him down there ALL the time standing up and staring at the clothes being washed and dried. It's too cute and it's keeping him entertained.
