Frozen Yogurt with Eddie

Tyler and I were at work on Wednesday doing a few things and ended up at the yogurt shop with Eddie. Eddie was such a big help (especially being a 10 year old boy) getting Ty in and out of the car, cleaning up after his crazy frozen yogurt mess every time he took a bite, etc. etc. It was super cute to watch and we all had a fun time! We'll definitely have to do more trips to the yogurt shop in the future! He loved the stuff!!

Jessie's Visit

My cousin Jessie came out of a visit a couple of weeks ago for a few days. She's lived in Florida the past few years and I hardly ever get to see her anymore. Very weird being that we grew up living down the street and seeing each other almost every day. She's a year older than me and I absolutely envied her growing up. Anyways... here's a few pictures from our family dinner night over at Gram's house.

Another bathtime photoshoot!!

I just love bathtime photoshoots... or any photoshoots that involve Tyler I guess... who knows?! I took these a couple of weeks ago but am just getting around to updating the blog. Enjoy!!

15 Months!

My baby boy is 15 months old! I can't believe it!

We went in for his 15 month check up yesterday and here are the stats:
Weight - 26 lbs 9 oz (75%)
Height - 31 1/4 inches (50%)

We met with the nurse practioner and she said everything looks great! His development is right on track and she seemed super surprised at how big Tyler is... I mean he's in the 75th and 50th percentiles but maybe he looks a lot bigger for his age... She asked how tall dad was (Chad wasn't at the appt with me) and I said "uuhhhh 5'8", lol, and she's all "there must be tall genes somewhere in the family." True - on my mom's side and on Chad's side too but still... he's in the 50th, so average right? I dunno... just thought it was funny.

Random Day...

Tyler had a Dr's appointment last week to see what his cough was all about... He'd had it for a couple of weeks and I wanted to try and do what I could to get rid of it before taking him to the dr's. It wasn't constant and wasn't keeping him up at night, etc but the things I were doing we're working so to the Dr's office we went. Well it turns out Ty had a sinus infection and an ear infection. Poor guy! With his past ear infections he was NOT happy 24 hours a day and with this one he was acting perfectly fine, except for pulling at his ears a little but that's also a sign of teething... so who knows. Anyways... when we went out to pick up his prescriptions that afternoon after the dr's I decided to stop at the park. It's so much fun to take him now that he's walking all over the place. He chooses which toy he wants to go over to and it's so cute. This was though the first time that he seriously threw a fit when we were leaving. I picked him up to take him to the car and as soon as he knew that we were walking towards the parking lot he started crying, then struggling to get out of my arms, then arching his back when I put him in his carseat. At least he loved and enjoyed the park while we were there and I got some cute pictures :)

* He loves the swings *

* And he LOVES things that spin *

* So much fun! *
* I'm trying to teach him slides are for SLIDING... not climbing * My little monkey *
* And then he became intrigued with this father and son playing basketball. He tried walking over there and up to them like 5 times *

New Years 2009

We headed out to Ocotillo Wells on New Years Eve this year to camping for the New Year. Our friends Justin and Araceli and Mike, Emily and Connor joined us out there for a fun time! Tyler and Connor are 8 months apart but played so well together and it was so cute to watch them interact. The boys went to bed pretty easy seeming there was a lot going on (at least it can be hard for Ty sometimes) and the adults were able to hang out by the fire and enjoys each others company while waiting to ring in the New Year. About 3-4 other campsites around Ocotillo had CRAZY fireworks (like the big, professional 4th of July ones) so we had an awesome fireworks show at midnight! We made smores (of course!), played catch phrase and had a fun time. Tyler decided to celebrate the New Year at 2am (YES 2 AM!) in a trailer with Araceli, Emily and Connor (the boys all slept together outside in a tent, cute huh?) and we were awake until 4... and then up for the day at 6:45... so yeah... not to much fun on my part but what're you gonna do?! Sometime he just has a hard time sleeping out there and sleeping in a pack'n'play. Anyways... all in all we had a great time. Ty and I came home for the second night as I didn't want to even chance having a LOOONNNNGG night again while everyone else stayed out there. Oh and Ty ended up sleeping 14 hours in his crib that night... tired boy!!!

* The boys hiked up to the top of this crazy mountain with the dogs... ya... no thanks! *

Ty's Kawasaki!

I know I've been so behind on blogging lately so I'm hoping to get caught up while Tyler's napping right now...

Anyways... here are a couple of videos of Tyler riding his little quad for the first time the day after Christmas. I can't believe this little power wheels quad is ages 12-36 months as Tyler (15 months) can't clearly know when to push the button and start, stop, steer, etc. He LOVES it though and it's too cute to watch how excited Chad gets watching him! Oh and this is definitely an only play while mommy/daddy is watching 24/7 toy... lol!

CHRISTmas 2008

CHRISTmas Eve
On Christmas Eve I went out for a couple of last minute errands, came home to get a few last minute things done and then headed over to my Gram's house for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. We have gone over to her house every Christmas Eve since I can remember. When my brother, sister, cousins and all of us were little we would be soooooooo excited to go over to Gram's house to eat dinner, but best of all to all bundle up and go on the golf cart around Portola Country Club to look at all of the Christmas lights. I'll forever cherish those memories and try to remember that excitement and anticipation on Christmas every year. Okay, back to this Christmas Eve though... We enjoyed a yummy dinner, took turns chasing/following/catching/etc. Tyler around the house (he is ALL over the place over at Gram's), opened our Christmas Eve gift and then headed over to the Christmas Eve service at church. The nursery isn't open for the Christmas Eve service so it was pretty interesting keeping Tyler entertained. He loved the worship but as soon as Pastor Bob started speaking he was ready for a change. The service ended with a candle light vigil to the song Silent Night. The sight of the sanctuary completely lit by everyone's candles made me teary-eyed (and Chad too ; ) ). We came home, it was time for Tyler's bedtime but we opened up our Christmas Eve PJ's and got a quick picture before it was time for bed!

CHRISTmas Day
My sister and Cris had planned on being here for a few days and having a fun, family holiday with all of us. Well Cris was sick and at their apartment and didn't end up being able to come into town until later today. My sister caught whatever he had and has been sick at our house the last couple of days. Poor thing... she looks miserable (actually she's looking a little better now as I'm typing this) but she still managed to join us for Christmas morning with stockings and gifts. Santa brought their stocking stuff to our house as of course he knew they would be here so we all joined in on the fun of opening them up! Tyler didn't quite know what to do with his stocking or his gifts. He would just carry around the wrapped present and play with it that way. I would start to open the paper and then give it to him to check out but he wasn't too interested... maybe next year... After gifts we got a start on cooking as we were having 15+ people over for Christmas lunch. We made 2 turkeys and LOTS of mashed potatoes and everyone else brought the rest! It was soooooooo yummy!!! After lunch we opened gifts with everyone and even had a surprise visit from Santa!!! I thought for a second there might be another proposal coming, lol (I can't believe that Chad proposed 5 years ago today!! CRAZY!!) but it was just gifts this time ; ) Tyler wasn't too sure what to think of him though. It was pretty cute. We've just been cleaning up and relaxing the rest of the day and the boys (Cris and Chad) are now on their second helping of Christmas food. It smells sooo good! I may just have to join in as soon as I'm done posting this...

* Santa brought the doggies their stockings too *
