So I got the urge to be a little crafty and attempt to sew a little blanket for Tyler today. I saw these cute little blankets on a website that I loved but (1) she's not taking any more orders until the 18th and (2) I don't want to pay $20+ for a little 16"x16 blanket...

It's been 10 years since I've made anything (back in Home Ec my freshman year of HS) but I thought I'd give it a shot. My grandma gave me her sewing machine a couple of years ago so I already had that ready to go. I drove down to Joanns Fabrics and got some super cute soft material and ribbon. Here's the end result:
(I changed the pictures so that 1) you can see he LOVES hisblankie and 2) the other pictures quality wasn't very good...)
Hahahaha! It is totally not square and the ribbons are crooked and all uneven but hey, I don't think Tyler will care too much. He LOVES blankets and this will be another to add to his collection : )

Cute!! I always wanted to make one for Aubrie, but I don't have a sewing machine. It looks good. You can make one for me in 2 years when I have another baby.
